i wish i can hike through the woods like you, but i get really paranoid about running into snakes, so most of the times i like to fish in open spaces where i can see everything. i know ill never catch fishes like some of you guys, but its hard for me to go into unfamiliar places, unless im with someone thats been there before. id like to get on a guided trip, but im a poor student without a job lol

I'm new to the area and just want to catch/release fish. I'm thinking about going out tomorrow after work. Which lures would you recommend to target the different types of fish out there. For example, if you could only use 3, which would they be?
The more specific the better, brand and color would be great.
Thanks.

Strike King "Sandbuster" it looks like the common lil' george but with a chart. top and pearl belly. Any brand of white curly tail grub plastics along with a chart, road runner jig head, and my 3rd lure of choice would be any of the tnt 180 slabs. all three have produced limits for me at the dam. Ive caught crappie, magnum sandies and hybrids with the occasional drum and buffalo. Good luck! i might be out there some time this week in my tube

Nice catch.
I went out there about 5pm to try to get my bearings. Was at the dam, not much happenin. Someone caught a nice size cat.
I was keeping an eye out for access points down to the creek, I'll have to get downstream next time.

Stopped by below the Dam this morning for a look around. Very calm, quiet and peaceful until the siren blasted at 9:05. I did not hear the Corp folks drive up or enter the access so i just about shat myself when the siren blared! Anyway, they opened gate 2 a little. It was very cool to see the new water rolling down and stirring up the pool. I expect this means the Corp is anticipating a rise in the lake level from the rain we are suppose to get this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow. If you are going down, dress warm. It always feels 10 degrees cooler there than up top...especially when the wind is blowing.

Man are you serious? Every fish you catch is just as pissed on as the ones that guy pissed on. Good grief. Man up!
