No that was last yrs. I didnt even pull the trigger this yr. I got that one in Navasota. Never saw that perfect deer this yr. We picked up a deer lease out between Birch and Big Creek this yr and I was waiting on that monster Lake Somerville buck. LOL
Ryan..Do you think it'd be good to put a 2man 8ft boat in the creek or would it be just as good walking?????? Ive got a 2man I've been working on. Finally getting a new trolling motor for it here in the next week or so.

I think it would be awesome...It would be even better if you had a depth finder to find the holes. Only problem is if your trying to go to Newmans you'll run into a lot of bank fisherman. So if you wanna fish a hole you already know about just walk. Or you can look for new ones in that boat.
Next time I take my yak out I'll give you a holla so you can bring it out....we can go into Nails and Yegua.

Against better judgement a buddy and I fished NB today. There was a ton of water overflowing the road to the bridge but was very passable. The water at the bridge was very murky and was flowing pretty quick. In search for calmer water we walked way downstream to try our luck. Fishing was very slow as expected with few nibbles. Final tally after about 4 hrs of fishing was 1 white and 2 gar. The gar were extremely active today. The water level did not seem to high as of yet. Ran into 2 others fishing who reported zero hits. Overall still had a great time. Doug, I can not believe you and my son went down there to begin with. I knew when I checked my rain gage that morning and told yall that I wasnt going that it would be a very slow bite, if a bite at all. I think you two might have done a little better if yall had gone to a marina on the lake and fished. But you two had already made up your minds that yall were going no matter what. I know it was an adventure, thats for sure. fishy, the marinas didnt do anything either. Me and a friend fished both marinas saturday and sunday without much success but we did get cold for sure!

To all anglers in the Austin area. From what Ive read on other forums, it looks like Reimers may be a hot spot this year. I hope so, because Im ready to go fish this place again. Even if the bite is off, the scenery around there is worth the trip all in it's own.

Yes Sir. I use to fish this lake once or twice a week. I did it for about four years straight. Plus I was there when they first started filling this lake up as I was there to help build units 1 & 2 out there. Fished this lake the first day it was opened up to the public and got busted for having one too many fish in the boat. I never once read the paper work they passed out at the gate and I didn't know that there was a three fish limit at that time. I was like the tenth boat to launch, and I was the first boat that was kicked off the water early that morning. Got a nice little fine to go with it too.

Yes Sir, I special order this kayak back in 2004, and this is what I ended up with. It has all the bells and whistles to go with it. I like it, it fishes great.
And yes I was throwing a yellow magic all day long that day.
You just got love those top water blow ups.

Doug-
I've been reading good things about water levels at Reimer's also. Might have a take a couple days off work in march and hit Reimer's one day and then the Yegua the next. What do ya think?
It's killing me being at work 6 days a week when I know the fish are biting.
Tight lines

It's killing me being at work 6 days a week when I know the fish are biting. Sounds like a plan to me. I'm game............. The best time for Reimers would be the second and third week in March.

Cat, I had a buddy that was off yesterday and went to Nails. He ended up with 15.
