If you know how to catch fish in Bardwell, you are a better fisherman than I. I have been there more than 20 times, and I have caught 2 small hybrids, released, a dozen small white bass, one cat, 15 9& 3/4" crappie, released, amd three smaller bass. I am from Colorado. I have caught many trout in the streams using flys, lures, and bait with my kids. I am out of my element in Texas. Guess I am a mountain man, not a Texas bass buster. Hope you do well on Bardwell!
"Freedom" is not free. Many men died to bring freedom to you and to me. Some of them sang: "...Christ was born across the sea with a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me. Entitlement programs are not free. Someone did the work for you and for me.

Bardwell is tough in the winter. They catch some at the marina. I usually sink brush in the winter. There Is almost zero cover on Bardwell. They find the brush, they don't have any other options. And yes at certain times it seems that 9 3/4" is all you catch...but there are plenty of keepers in there.

Only success I have EVER had at Bardwell has been trolling. Other than that, GOOD LUCK...
