it seems like all eveeryone talks about is CPR(catch picture release). but what is wrong with filleting a few and frying them every now and than?

if the saying "insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result" is true, then 99% of bass anglers are aparently insane.

I never keep bass but have eaten some before and they are good. I love me some crappies fried or baked!

I dont keep bass as it is a sport to me. Bass arent a huge always schooling fish like crappie or sandbass.

The fish I will eat are the ones that are of abundance like crappie, sandbass, stripers, and bluegill if they are big.

Sometimes catfish, I just dont fish for those that much.

The picture I take is good enough.

Isn't one of the reasons for a "slot" is to thin the herd,..

I eat bass. Not a thing wrong with taking a limit for the table every now and then. I like the 1-2 pound fish best for frying.

Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

A 12" spot is about the tastiest fish swimming. I will keep a few small fish once or twice per year and eat them that night. Part of the camping experience, ya know. I do hate seeing folks cleaning a sack of bigger fish ( and I see it all the time at Falcon and Choke) but as long as they are legal, it ain't none of my business.

I'll keep any good-eating fish as long as i can get about 4-5, otherwise I dont think its worth cleaning 1 or 2.

I love eating fish, but I don't really eat much bass since I started tournaments. If I choose to keep bass I will go to a slot limit lake and keep the bass under 14 inches. They taste really good compared to the big fish. Plus the smaller fish have a smaller mercury content than the bigger fish do. I always say take what you want as long as it is legal and you aren't taking more than you need.

One thing that bugs me is bass that don't have their hooks removed after swallowing. If you can't get the hook out you should probably take it home instead of turning it loose to suffer in the lake.
