tim, i always get a kick out of watching tourney guys spend more time pushing the boat off the trees so it wont get scratched, rather than chunking and winding

No joke.
I just spent $200 to fish this tournament and my insurance deductible is $250. I am running wherever I don't see a tree in front of me.

reminds me of the "old" hickory creek area on lewisville.. once you learned how to run it- you could do just that. Exactly. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to run it on top since the tree debacle.

I had a neighbor that thought he knew Ray Bob pretty well until one day a stray stump in Indian Creek impaled his Ranger. He was just breaking over and caught one of the big oaks. It punched a nice hole.

Yep, looks like a normal run on Ray Roberts... Ray bob on the north end BINGO Jack, Bill Wilcox taken a run up Isle-Du-Bois north of the Bridge. If memory serves me. It can get tricky up there.

Looks like a rental boat. Or maybe a stolen boat.

No bueno. I'd need a new set of pants on that ride.

Been done about a million times at Fork. Several likely resulted in a pretty good windfall for the fiberglass shop / marine dealer.
A guide up there said his theory was that two big trees don't grow together. He said he had pretty good luck with it so far. Of course his boat had half a skeg at the time.
If you can't see it you can't hit it. This theory is exercised by many but a few not so lucky.

I'd do it in a jet boat. A long time ago a friend's dad wanted me to drive his new open front ski boat like that through Lake Leon. There's a path down the middle of the lake, but we didn't know that at the time. He saw other boats do it previously and figured we should be able to also. You need to know the path to run like that. I did it for a little while as best I could. Found parts of the path and bounced off trees the rest of the way. Scary stuff.

It only takes knocking off a $850.00 prop and breaking the shaft off and a total bill of over $2000.00 to slow you down or at least it did me.
