A topic was posted about this newly exposed pole on the Bass Fishing thread last week.

I found it this morning. It is roughly between the Gravel Pits and the tree that is out of the water down by the damn. Here are the GPS coordinates:

N 32 48.685
W 96 30.240

It looks like a small telephone pole and is sticking up about 10" out of the water. IT WOULD DO SOME DAMAGE IF YOU HIT IT.

Thanks to information from the other post, I am going to call Rene with the City of Dallas Hubbard Authority (214.670.8658) and try to get it removed or at least marked. I also plan on addressing other stumps I read about that are South of I-30 (I thought this area was pretty clear but am finding out I was mistaken).

PLEASE mark this spot with your GPS and avoid it.

Be careful out there!

Paul

I'd suggest the best thing you can do is mark it with a relective stake pole.....or rebar and a reflector. I doubt very seriously you are going to get something removed or cut by any water body governing authority.....it's been there for years and is only a problem now because the water is down.

Just be glad you don't fish on Ray Roberts or Lewisville. You don't have enough waypoints for those lakes.....

Lord.....Please forgive me for what I am about to do to your crappie......AMEN

Thanks for posting the coordinates. Don't always go by the dam, but was down there Saturday morning and noticed this same piece of structure. I didn't notice it coming in at high speed, so lucked out missing this.

Hubbard is getting lower and lower every week. Couldn't even unload at my usual spot at 66 bridge.

"Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

Don't put any re-bar or metal post on it at all!
When the lake goes back up, that would be a worst hazard under the surface.

hey UT Fan, what datum is your GPS set for? Is it WGS 84 or NAD 27, or what?? Look in your systems menu on the GPS. It could make a difference of several hundred yards. Marbravo

Hey guys I am the one that posted the t/pole on the bass site. Sorry I forgot about this section as I should have thought about you guys also. I went back out on thursday to mark this with PVC and Rene had already removed it as he said they would that morning. I will post here also on future obstructions. Glad someone else only saw it and not suprisingly found it that was a bad one. I looked around for some of you regulars that morning because the bass fisshing has pretty much sucked . I had my Son with me . Wanted to find the boat show for him before school started and didn't see a soul. I think his name is Ruben that I read of him being out there alot. I have a black & white Ranger F/S see you guys soon....Fitz
