Where will you be staying and planning to launch and also, where are you planning to fish?

There are numerous areas in all parts of the lake where sandies and hybrids can be found.

More info please!

You will be close to the spillway hump which always holds fish, sandies and hybrids. Your friendly CC map will indicate this hump plainly.

Also, fish the area surrounding the dam for large hybrids and sandies.....these humps are also clearly marked.

As for the night fishing, the water temp in the backs of the main lake coves is around 80 now, so I'd focus on docks on the main lake and at the mouths of big coves where the water is a little cooler, rather than in the back. Fish at docks with bright lights at the end of the pier facing down directly on the water. We use rattletraps and boogie rats and tailhummers retreived slowly through the lighted water.

As for early mornings and evenings, you can either follow the crowds around Crappie Island, the dam and the Key Ranch area to look for surfacing fish, or you can find your own fish by graphing main lake points in 22 to 30 feet of water. I'd keep a 1 oz Roostertail on one rod because if any big hybrids surface, they can't resist it and you can make long casts with it. It is also good to slow retrieve from the bottom for suspended fish.
If the wind is blowing 15 or so, you can drift sassy shad on the tabletop that runs from Crappie Island to the dam. There's a good article by Steve Bradbury on a guide website that you can find about how to fish the sassy shad.

If all else fails, learn to throw a cast net and try drowning some big shad!
