Has anyone ever fished Crenshaw Park in Pasadena, TX? I've never done any freshwater fishing but I'd like to try it out. I know theres Bass and what not in that big pond that is there but wunna know if any of you have ever fished there or know anyone who has. If so what are some basic lures etc i should pick up on my next trip to academy? Im not trying to catch any trophy bass, just wunna do a lil fishing and plus this place is only 5 minutes from my house.. Thanks in advanced.

Noone??? Wow...... Ok well i figured id get no response as its not a popular place to fish nor does it hold any record sized bass but its just a lil place to fish. So what about lures and tackle should i start with..like what is a must for bass fishing?? Any help is greatly appreciated, help this salty angler baptize his gear in some fresh water. Oh and i already have baitcasters and rods and small spinning setups too, fluro line and leader material. Also there is tilapia along with the bass in there i dunno if thats good or not.

Will you be fishing from the bank? Can you walk all around the lake/pond?

I would try fan casting with a lipless crankbait until you get a bite and hopefully that bite will help you narrow down higher percentage areas. Id also bring a jig and a Texas rigged worm but that's just me. Oh ya I always have a fluke tied on but again that's just me.

I have had great luck on rattletraps, and the good ole H&H lures. If there are any trees or insects around and active try to match the color of the leaves or bugs. My best bass was close to Thanksgiving on a brown, orange, and yellow single blade H&H. If you see top water action try a torpedo. Good luck. Remember try different lures, and keep moving. When you get a hit you've found something they want to eat. For me if I don't get a hit in 3-4casts in an area I move to another spot. If I don't catch any fish its not for lack of trying. Hope this helps a little.

Buy any color plastics you want aslong as they are GREEN or Pumpkin.......... Just sayin........ Don't forget to pick up a couple of Sexy Shad color spinner baits and maybe a white and a black/blue.

Bullet wieghts (worm wieghts)

Don't give up on lures if you don't get bit. It may be a day when most bass have lockjaw. They may want one thing today and something else tomorrow. You are a prime candidate for fishing fever, it has no cure and makes you keep buying tackle. Good luck.
