The Gate will be opened this afternoon at 5:00 PM, there are limits of white bass coming out of the Yegua today. The early run has started, good luck.

The fish are moving alot in the creeks right now, we caught 2 stringers full but had to work for the fish we caught. I think that the fishing is going to come alive soon. It seemed where there are usually alot of fish stacked in a hole it only held a few. Ready for this year to make up for last. Good luck all!

I caught 10 in about 1 1/2 hours yeasterday afternoon. Mostly short stringers of smaller males I saw, but I found a good hole with large males and one female.

Its amazing what some rain will do. My wife and I went to NB this summer to go hiking and the creek channel was dry with grass growing in it. We walked the bottom of the channel from the walking bridge a good distance down. Wish I would have had a GPS to mark some of the deeper holes.

My dad was there this morning. Had to work but ended up with five keepers and returned 4. Fishing with artificials.

All, the gate at Newman's is closed as of this afternoon. TPWD will open it when this rain event passes, that road can't take lots of rain water and remain open. Irwin Bridge is always open and the fishing can be just as good at times.
