Good lookin' dog there! Here is my pup Duke, he's a 15 month old Lab. After a goose hunt this season... I think it's a cool picture!

good look'n dog, back in the late 80's that we used was a shock collar has the traing changed since then?
i remember going with dad under bridges at night with a bass net catching pigions to train our dogs with.
i sure miss watching the dogs work, nothing better than seeing them going 90 to nothing and lock'n up.

Oh ya! It's hilarious, he is young, so it took him a couple hunts before he would even go near them, but now he hits them like a linebacker! He retrieved every single one of those birds, it was 15 degrees and he had to swim for some of them, I was very proud of him that morning! He got extra kibbles for dinner!
How old is your pup dietdrpepper? Pretty dog, full GSP?

i sure miss watching the dogs work, nothing better than seeing them going 90 to nothing and lock'n up. It does give me chills when a dog goes on point, from like you said, 90 to nothing. As far as training being different from the 80's I'm not sure. We use a couple different collars. The one in the pic above is for around the house obedience which I never have to use above the lowest recognition level. When out in the field I use a higher level of stimulation if he takes off after a rabbit or something and doesn't heed to my "whoa". I rarely have to use stimulation as he responds almost always to voice command.

How old is your pup dietdrpepper? Pretty dog, full GSP? He is 8 months. Full English Pointer. You're right they can make you very proud. I used to not even want a dog now I can't imagine not having one.

I hear ya, Duke brightens my day up everyday, it's snowing here today, he really, really likes snow, I let him outside and just watched him play in the snow, got a good laugh out of it!
