I've had one for 9 months. It is a strong motor. The only problems I have had: 1. Stock rope breaks too soon, order an extra or go ahead and install a steel cable. (It can be a pain to change) 2. The plastic side pieces on the mount are made from cheap plastic and will break / crack.
On the plus side, the motor and foot control has remained tight and strong. All in all, I give it an 8/10. I think you will be pleased. I bought mine after bending 3 Motorguide shafts a year (yes, I am rough on my trolling motors). This shaft has held up great!

Be sure to get the deck rest leg for it, or mount a gimbal to it. In rough water you'll need something to keep it tied down. Has plenty of power, just would like it to be a little quieter than what it is.

I love mine. Solid as a rock.
Warning: when you get use to the lift assist be careful when deploying your buddys Motorguide. You will feel like you almost got pulled out of the boat.

+1 Also it took awhile to get used to the pedal after running a MG. IMO it is more solid than the MG.

Clint, are you talking about the little plastic glides? Tabs?
They are part of the plastic cover to the mount. Mine hung up a few times when pulling the TM up. We cut them off with a small saw. We filed them down to prevent hang ups. Works without a glitch now.

I have had one for about a year now. No major problems. It is the best TM I have owned so far.

I am tryin to get used to mine. It is definatly louder than the MG. I keep pushin down on the the right side and it aint goin anywhere. I love the power and the lift assist. I will give it a 8 for now.

my only complaint is the ergonomics of the foot petal switch. I finally put a self adhering pad on mine to raise the top plane of the button.

I finally put a self adhering pad on mine to raise the top plane of the button. the foot switch is adjustable.. you can take a small screwdriver and push the magnet up , or down to raise /lower the "trip point " push the plastic keeper on the foot pedal , and remove the button , you will see the magnet..

Was going to wait until April to have it installed but I think I am going to pull the trigger and get the Maxxum off the front.
