I'm guessing you were fishing in the morning? I was there in the afternoon but went the other way from where you were (I recognize those spots). I had 10 in 1 1/2 hours around 4:00-5:30.

I am brand new to this forum and at my wits end. I have been fishing at NB and the bridge for several years but I must not have a clue what I'm doing. I see people hauling out stringers of fish but I usually on catch 1-5 on those days. This weekend I heard that they were catching left and right on Sat morning but I caught 2 Sat afternoon at the bridge and only 3 on sunday morning. I usually look for a good log jam or stump and try to fish the upstream side of the pool. I usually jig a grub or steady reel one in. I tend to lose 10 to 15 jigs a trip on sticks in the water. Does anyone have any suggestions for an ignorant soul? I'm ready to hire a guide. How do you fly fish on the Yegua?

I'm new to the forum and never fish the yegua before, can someone tell me what kind of jigs to use to catch those whites, and would minnows work?

Just returned...........Fished Newmans this morning and caught 6; lots of folks down there. Two big females ready to lay. Had one (striper?) take my bait and he ain't stopped yet!
After 9 AM they got lock jaw and you had to coax them to bite.

Rode over to Nails bridge and it was shallow and not much movement. Went to Cedar bridge and it was shallow and not much movement either. Went to hemroid and there was good moving water but it was clear and shallow.

All creeks appear to be 4 ft. lower than normal. A good rain that would bring the creeks up 2 foot would be great!

Hope everyone had/has fun!

i use grub jigs and have good success but when you go make sure you have a lot. i think minnows would work but I'm not sure about them. good fishing everyone.

minnows work good later in the spawn with a split shot weight.

Just so that it is clear, a true hybrid can be either male or female (and a few that are a mix of both). Hybridization still results in roughly the same percentage of males and females as regular birth rates for either parent species.

River, were you in the truck that stopped to check things out at the Nails bridge???
