I am trying to plan a redfish trip to Port Aransas/Rockport area and am looking for a reliable guide that will put us on some fish at a fair price. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
I am also open to an area other then Rockport/Port Aransas if someone has a good recommendation. Wanting to take the trip in late January or February.

A good friend of mine's buddy is a guide in the Rockport area. I don't know his name though but he's a pretty cool guy. I met him briefly when he and some friends of ours all went out to eat and had drinks at the bar and my friend told me he was a really good Rockport fishing guide, but I'll ask my friend what his name is since they fish together sometimes and are good friends. Last time they went out he said he put him on some nice redfish and trout. And he said the day was really ugly. Windy, rainy, choppy. But he put him on some really nice redfish and trout too till they called it an early day since the weather got worse that day and his girlfriend didn't like fishing in the rain and she wanted to go back even though they were catching fish. I'll call my friend and ask what his name is.

Hello Ditaman. If you want to fish the San Antonio Bay area, I personally know a very good guide out of Seadrift, TX His guide service is called "Full Stringer" and his name is Gary Alford, his cell phone is 210-860-7807. He is a good guy and will put you on fish. Dan Dybala (Marbravo1)

Dltaman,
We fished Port A/Rockport last summer and went out with Captain Larry Kelly 361-790-4518 & 361-790-4519. Great guy, enjoyed fishing with him and he taught us a lot about the area and how to fish it. Easiest fishing we've ever done. Might think about trying him if ya'll are still headed down. Good luck.

Check out www.thesaltwatercowboy.com I have fished with Capt. Scott Mc Cune, and would recommend him to all. He's not the type of guide to pull up to a pothole and keep you there waiting for hours, he works for you.

We live by Capt Scott going on 4 years now and can say he is real good at putting people on fish, and has a good presents about him. Very helpful when we get down there and looking for fish.
