Many years ago my father guided on Ouchita and Hamilton when the first Rapala's came out. They were selling for $50 to $100 each.My father bought one and went to a hooby shop and bought balsa wood and made his own version of them.Remember this was 50 years ago !! In todays dollars it would cost about $500 for one.

I don't think I have ever spent more than 6 or 7 bucks on a lure and I've only spent more than 5 a couple of times.

I lose too many and don't make enough money to justify spending any more than that.

Paid a little over $50 for a custom swimbait from California. Haven't thrown it much but so far no bites. I also paid $40 for a custom painted Sebile swimbait on eBay and it's the BOMB at Amistad! I've been looking for another one like it but so far one hasn't come up.

if the saying "insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result" is true, then 99% of bass anglers are aparently insane.

26 bucks for a custom painted RC1.5 on Ebay. Took 3 weeks to show up and it was broken and crushed in transit. Went back and forth with the guy, sent it back to him for a replacement, and never heard anything from him again.

Lesson Learned.

$8.99 for me, but I have a couple lucky crafts that cost more. I have a pretty good system when I go fishing with my little brother. Right before were done fishing for the day I borrow one of his expensive lucky crafts and forget to untie it when we leave. It worked pretty good until now because I just remembered he usually reads all my posts. banana Just kiddin KVS rolfmao

I would guess a Marlin lure would be the most expensive. I was lied to on a fishing boat in Maui I guess. $1,000 a lure ... dooh.

Here is what I found:

http://2catchmarlin.com/store/info.php/id/313

I have a hard time paying over $15 for a lure.
