I was given a trailer with no paper work. The guy said it he made it about 5 years ago. I went to the County Tax Office where to "talk" about how to get this process started, expecting a long up hill battle. The guy filled out a paper asked me the empty weight of the trailer, the max load weight of the trailer (4,000# seemed to be a magical number for some reason - mine was like 400#). He told me to keep this paper work as a "Non Titled Registered Trailer." Signed some paperwork, paid for $38.40, handed me some plates and I was done 15 minutes later.
