Like alot have said its paid for, used a two check plan; one when I ordered it and one when I picked it up.............
08 BassCat P2 I like the size, layout and overall performance, not as smooth as my first Champion but pretty close.

Big boats mean big tow vehicles but nobody said anything about that. That is what I like about my Xpress is that I can tow an 18.5 foot bass boat with a 150 on it with a half ton 6cyl pickup 75 mph and not use any more gas than if I was just driving the truck with no boat behind it. And it has been paid for sence the day i picked it out. It is not the prettiest boat or the fastest boat on the lake but it will get me out and back.

USED,
Allison is paid for. Easy on the gas. Good ride. Dryest boat except for a full windshield fish and ski.
Usually the fastest boat on the lake for horsepower applied.
One of the best built.
Bad things? Different. It doesn't fish well compared to other large boats in big water.
I am wrong but you can not prove it, you just believe it enough from the bottom of your heart.....

The ride of my Champion...Lots of rough choppy water on Amistad. The boat handles better than any other that I have been in on this lake.

The thing I like best is that my boat is paid for. I bought used but was able to pay cash. The other thing that I like is that my boat is glass at 18 1/2 ft with a 150 hp motor. The boat is big enough for these TX lakes with good stability and storage, but not to big to tow with my 4.6 liter F-150. The 150 hp motor costs more in gas than I would like to pay, but it works for me. Good luck in purchasing your first boat... it's a great feeling.

I like the boxes on my 97 Champ! The boxes are easy to open. No latches to break, plus the thieves at fork don't have to tear [censored] up prying them open. Has anyone mentioned a Champ's ride is great.
Just trying to remember to turn my lights off backing down the ramp!

I have a few things that I like about my boat. I have tried other brands but keep coming back to a Skeeter everytime and usually pretty quick too.
1. Fishability- the layout and comfort when fishing are top notch. The stability even when it has 2-3 in the boat is great. Very stable in the water and plenty of deck space to fish 2 up front comfortably. Lots of storage and good common sense solutions to storage. Not useless like some boats have. The lid latch system is the best on the market in my opinion.
2. It drafts very shallow which I tend to fish most often anyway plus it is less affected by the wind while fishing than others. You can let off the trolling motor and not have the front end blow around if you are fishing deep on windier days.
3. Performance wise it hits that perfect place between excellent fishability and above average performance. It ain't the fastest but it ain't trying to be either. I have no complaints about rough water ride and those that have rode in mine will probably agree.
4. On a personal level its paid for and I love having the titles free and clear. Still has lots of warranty and a LOT of money has been won out of it. Hopefully that good vibe will now rub off on me.

Everything that Mark said.....I could have looked for years and never found a better deal...3hrs on a new series 2 powerhead when I picked it up plus a new hull from Skeeter to boot...I have never owned anything but Skeeters....always been happy so no use in looking at any others...like Mark said...there are faster boats out there but when I'm on the water 99% of my time is fishing...and as far as fishability there is none better...

What I most like about my boat?...That I have one. Other than that I got the big shaft on this one. I was told it would be fine with the HP I have on it. They lied! I had problems and they "Jordan Marine" went belly up. My boat manufacturer basicly said tough. So I deal with it. So I suggest you get the proper HP. You have a dealer that will stand behind their product. And you TEST IT before you buy it!!! I do Like my LOGO!

From a ride standpoint, I hear that Champion is the best, but I've never been in one. I have been told that when fishing the Champion will bob up a down because the bow is higher off the water. Again, this is coming from what others said. I got a BassCat Pantera Classic because the ride is smooth even in the roughest water, and it is stable on the bow while fising. Plus I got a great deal on a 2000 that was well maintained with a 200 HP Merc. It has a flippin deck insert, so there is tons of deck up front. Thats all true about Champions, but it has never bothered me. Some people also complain that if both anglers stand on the same side of the boat it will lean... True as well, but the smooth ride makes up for it IMO. If you are looking at a 10-12 yr old boat, remember to save money to upgrade your trolling motor and electronics. My dad's 2000 Champion still has the trolling motor that it came with, can't hold it in a 20 mph wind. Also still has one of the graphs it originally came with, its almost completely worthless.
