They are in there already. Fished it twice last week by boat. Found water
temps 49-60 degrees. Caught Crappie and sandbass both.
2in sassy shad or 2in Little Fishy seemed to work equally well.

FYI- there is a new submerged tree west of the 377 bridge apx
200 yds east of the old submerged dam. It is not marked and you can't see it untill U are on top of it and high centered. It is in the direct center of the channel. I
tried but could not get pvc driven into the creekbottom to make it for others but I predict
it will eat more than a fair share of lower units/props as it
was in an area that had been safe to run on plane in years past.
Next time out I will take a jug and tie it onto it.
I got lucky, it only ate my transducer and I was only going
3mph when I ran up on it. I love my metal boat!

The park behind Trophy Club has a pay box and gate. bring $5.00 to get in w/ your boat trailer. I dunno if I would trust it to make change.

Sniper,
2 questions. How far up can you go in Denton Creek? How do you get to the boat ramp off 377 coming from Denton? Thanks............Slab Shark.

Sniper,
Thanks for the info. Have been hoping for good news on Denton Creek for awhile now. I plan to paddle my canoe up creek from Trophy Club park in a couple of Saturdays, weather permitting. About how far from the boat ramp is it to 377 would you say?

Not to butt in Doug but I tracked it using the ruler function on Google Earth and it was 3.65 miles.

3 miles from 377..I checked it with the scale provided on the google earth website.
Have been wondering about it for a long time. That is a fair estimate. It winds like crazy so getting it exact is difficult.

I'm thinking instead of heading west from Trophy Club, I'm gonna paddle north to the small creek that runs to the bridge on Dunham road. IF I can find it. The first crappie I ever caught was in that creek, nearly 50 years ago.

I have done the 3+ mile paddle from Marshall Creek ramp to 377 and it is a beating (more so when windy). I will look up Durham Rd sounds like a better option.

Thanks
Darrell

What size boat can you put in at marshall creek ramp? I have wondered about launching there and fishing the creek but not sure if my boats to big for it? I have an 18.5' skeeter SL190 fish/ski boat. also can you access the main lake from there or vice verse go up denton creek from grapevine lake? I tried one time to find the creek entrance from the main lake but couldn't seem to find it even with my gps it wasn't very easy or clear from the lake to find. I may have just not been looking correctly.

If i can get my boat in there, how far up the creek can i go? or should i just bank fish it?

You can launch pretty much any size boat at that ramp when the water is up like it is now. They did have some stuck trucks last year when it was low. I have seen a 21' fishmaster halfway between 377 and I-35 on the creek when the water was up. Must have took him a long time to get there or he was real brave(or stupid).

If you go south end of the lake toward the island then toward the left behind the island staying in the creek. Take it slow. I have a nitro with a 115 and ran the creek staying in the middle.

Thanks for the launch info, and will definitely take the water level into consideration before deciding to go, it will probably be good for awhile with more rain coming this week.

Thanks for the directions to the creek entrance. After looking at google satellite and comparing it to the regular map there is a bit of difference in the water line/shoreline. I believe i was to far to the north and missed the entrance to the creek thinking it was farther to the Northwest. I'll give it a try another time. thanks for info.
