what do you guys think causes bass to hit oddly colored plastics, such as a bubblegum pink? was fishing a pond stocked with trout today and figured i'd use a pink finesse worm, as it may somewhat resemble the coloration of a trout. picked up a couple keepers. But then i got to thinking. Maybe they didnt strike the pink because of the recent trout stocking, but maybe they had just never seen that color in their wild habitat, and kind of struck out of curiosity. who knows. what are yalls opinions?

curiosity caught the bass. Think about it. If you had no hands, arms, or legs and you wanted to know what something was, what would you do?

My Wife used to catch fish all of the time on bubblegum flukes. My own personal belief is it's more about other factors than it is color.

I was watching Denny Brauer on "Bass Class" one time when he made this incredibly brillant quote. "If they don't bite the natural colors, try the exotics" Wow! Stunning advice!

I have some Creme Scoundrals that are suppose to be Pumpkin, but something went wrong with the coloring of them and they came out blaze orange! One day at Lake Cooper I ended up catching about 40 bass on them things in one creek bend when I couldnt get a bite on anything else!

I have no idea what was so special about that blaze orange worm, but I now own about 200 of them and havent caught a fish on them since! hammer

Fish may not see colors the same way we do. You know how deer see UV colors? Same concept, possibly.

JCB,
I think you could check all of our "fishing closets" and find a stash like that.

Most likely the bass hadn't seen that color before and curiosity got the best of him. I paint some really strange colors for guys that swear by them.
