This is Mr. Robert Adkins. He caught this fish today trolling a DD22 (Tennessee Shad) in 35 ft. of water. Mr. Adkins immediately came to the shop to get her weighed. Since she was on her side with obvious BaroTrauma, he thought she was gonna die. He even called the taxidermist to come meet us here. He had no idea a replica could be made until myself and JC Gwynne (The Amistad Man) advised him of it. He also had no idea on anything about fish care. He now can do it with his eyes closed after educating him ! Needless to say he is going to get a replica, and I feel confident anytime this man catches another deep fish that he can rectify the situation. This fish also had been caught before and had been fizzed BEFORE. The needle went right in the previous hole (same measurement, might have been me before doing it). I applaud Mr. Adkins and his decision. THIS is what we need to be advocating if you want a record of any sort. Not griping about a sharelunker program that only deals with one fish. We do this to 8-10 lb. fish all the time and they go back to fight another day. Their #'s far outweigh a single SAL and if you notice at the cleaning stations, THESE are the one's we should be worried about considering how many we have seen done before. It is amazing what a little education can do, and how far it can go. Congrats Mr. Adkins ! Can't wait to see that replica !

Thanks fellas. Just an update. She is alive a happy in the SAL tank tonight. Can't say that for the two craws we have in there (must be scared out of their minds LOL). She will go back home in the morning via my boat to fight again another day. Had to take a LOT of air out of her, but she is doing just fine. Congrats again to Mr. Adkins on his PB largemouth and decision !

Nice to hear a success story every once in a while, seems like the only news is bad news these days.

That was a great experience, Mr. Adkins was very receptive to the ideas of fish care, But I can tell you, he fished with me about a week ealier and released all the fish caught that day, The only reason he kept this one, was it was his personel best and that fish looked like she was done for. He was very impressed at the complete recovery of his fish,(Carl did an excellent job) and was very grateful she was able to swim to fight another day.
Great Job, Robert!!
Respectfully,
Jc Gwynne

That's cool i love hearing about a fish being released. If you are a true sport fisherman catch and release is the only way to go!!!
