Never been, have a club tourney coming up soon. Is it safe to run as long as you say in channel ? Is it rocky, stumpy, etc. Any general advice is very welcome. Thank you in advance.

It is pretty safe to run, although there are a couple of humps out in the middle of the Sandy Creek arm. They've got trees on them, so they're easy to see. Dam end is clearer, rockier, with some grass. Creek arms are less clear, more trees. Haven't been in a while, no idea what the fish are doing (swimming? :))

I hear they are catching some really nice bass on crank baits right now. I would stick with crankin and jigs right now.

As long as you don't run through sticks there, you're going to be fine. Pretty much all of the "stumps" are full sized trees that are clearly visible. Spinners and cranks nicking the top of vegetation has been a pretty common successful technique most of the year.
