Started fishing at 9:00 and off the water at 11:00 on Thursday. I counted 6 gates open. I didnt expect to see so many boats on the water. I was kind of hoping to have the spillway to myself. Ha! Ha! I threw a white rattle trap, TNT Slab and a PET spoon. I ended up with 3 keepers only.

There were three older gentlemen in a white center console with high walls that were doing a little better. They were throwing a lure called super dooper. I have never heard of it.

All in all, it was a beautiful day on the water. woot woot

Oh yea, when I got home and put the ear muffs on. My engine would not turnover, but I could here the starter spinning. I removed the cowl and I could see the starter teeth not engaging with the flywheel. cry I guess Im going to be out of water until I get my mechanic to take a look. Im glad I was on dry ground. laugh

dont let that the starter deal stop ya. Take an air hose and blow out the bendex (gears) at the top of the starter. Then put you a dose of WD-40 on the shaft and try it again. Dont pay an mech when you can do it yourself.

Later,

Sounds like Matt's boat, and the old gents were throwing stuff found at the bottom of Matt's tackle box. Heck, I didn't think that thay made those things any more. I recall ice fisherman using them yrs. ago. Matt, sounds like you need another trip to Bass Proshop. See ya Sat. am. I'll come find ya.

luvfishn,

I will try that this evening after work. From what you describe, it sound like the starter may just have dry / wet dust on the gears. If so, is there a way to prevent this from happen? I mean, this is TX and we do play around water. What do you think about me just replacing the starter bushing? Your solution is a lot cheaper though.

Hoggwild was there...that sissy THOMAS wasnt...LOL stir
We ended up with somewhere in the 60s mark of whites Matt...Slow day but always fun! The north wind picked up when the front blew in and pushed us out of the water...the ramp was out right CRAZY with people trying to dock their boats near the ramp on the rocks..

Yeh, yeh, I got you guys mixed up. Sounds like ya'll caught a lot of fish but it was not as good as it has been. Most people would be proud to catch that many but I guess we expect to catch 100 each time we go out.
