just wondering why people run 2 of the same units side by side at the console.do they run off of the same transducer?

I (and many others) run two because of the depths we fish. I normally have one set on 50kw and the other set to 200kw. The 200 is more defined but limited at depth. The 50 is not as defined but reaches deeper. They operate off of two different transducers. If you ran both on the same frequency they may interfere with each other.

Also, one of mine is Triducer with a paddle wheel which is beneficial for determining speed and distance traveled while trolling.
