So what you are saying is..."That ain't funny" I am ready for the lake to get back up where we can launch again...I see those birds busting the water out there... Yep you are right need the rain to get the fish in that creek - I fishied it a couple times last year and met a few TFFers out there.

Welcome to the forum F.C. Maybe you can put a little humor too this page cause the lack of Water in the lake's aint too funny.... Find where their dumping the water in and ye shall find fish O-plenty. I believe Arlington is only 3-4 foot low from what 20' foot there stealing water from Ceder Creek and Richland Chambers. I thought Benbrook was to get a shot as well? RED

We will be getting rain soon and the birds have been going wild out on benbrook. I was out today, once in the morning and once in the evening. Over the past three days, have caught around 20 hybrids with the largest being around 9lbs. The fish are stacking up along points, as they can not make it up the creeks to spawn. YOu guys should get out on the lake and try some of the large points on the south end of the lake. The Birds have been working very strong at the mouth of richardson slough, if only you could put a boat in. Jason, it was nice meeting you out there today and glad we could get you on some nice hybrids. It has been fun and I am sure the action will continue for a few more weeks.

I have been fishing from the bank(actually Wading in chest deep water and casting on the edges of the point.) We have been killing the hybrids and sandbass. In an hour or an hour and a half, I will usually pull in about 15 fish or so. Sandies and hybrids are both full of milt. I have released all fish caught, except for two that I gave away to a friend while I was down there. Actually, I gave away about 6 that day. When fishing for the hybrids, size of the bait seems to make all the difference in the world. When switching over to larger wild eyes, we get 0 takes but upon switching over to small wildeyes or roadrunners, all of a sudden, the action is instant! I am in Corpus now and will not make it back out to benbrook until monday or tuesday but will post when I make it back out. Today a buddy of mine is headed out to the honey hole and I will find out how he did this evening. Benbrook has never been so kind to me!!!!!! I have a feeling that I will be able to slaughter the hybrids and sandies for a few more weeks as most fish are still trying to spawn. I will wait it out and see how long it last. Its nice only living a mile from the lake.
