The 3 that I use are Double ZZ Custom Lures, Bass Assault Lures and Talon Custom Lures. Double ZZ uses the "J" style hook which I really like..

go to barlowstackle.com
you can make up skirts for as little as 50 cents a piece. Really depends on how fancy you want to make them up. The add on's are what costs so much.
I would email a few of the jig makers and see if they ahve any blemished heads to start playing with.
You will find you can make them for @1.50-2.00 pretty easy with all the extras on them

+ 1 on that. Eddie is great to work with. He has some great ideas to help you make that right color for your water. I know what works on Fork is not the same as what works on Stillhouse.

Obviously plenty of jigs to choose from, hehe. We use a Mustad 32796 in our finesse jigs. It's a stout round bend hook. I fish my finesse jigs in heavy cover and around boat docks alot. It's not a traditional finesse jig with a light wire hook. They all have their place. I wanted a stout hook because I use braid alot. If you are looking for a stout hook, we got it. If not, there's tons of brands out there Click here for a larger image: http://www.spitfirejigs.com/images/finesse_lg.jpg

All these companies listed pretty much have the standard colors available or you can only order the colors they thought looked good to them. Most of us here have built our businesses on custom work and in general have very satisfied customers. Some of us also have a really wide variety of strand colors, styles and materials we work with; in our case we even like to "collect" single run batches and discontinued colors for even more variation from the norm. And, honestly, since when is the dreaded Flaming PuPu a standard color???LOL! It does look really pretty to me, but it was actually a custom color I made for a man in California for fishing the Delta. Not in a finesse style though - he uses the color in a 1oz grass jig. There's lots of great products and people to choose from here, and we each have our own special way of doing things. Choose what and who makes sense and is comfortable for you.

well Jimmy I have been making my own flipping jigs, and can make them for around $1.80 a piece...However, Joey at spit fire makes one of my favorite finesse jigs because it has a hook made for heavy line....

All these companies listed pretty much have the standard colors available or you can only order the colors they thought looked good to them. This could not be a more false statement. I have dealt with Bassassault jigs and they have built me colors I specifically wanted. Along with others mentioned that have made ones with a hook of my choice and colors.

Revenge jigs are top of the line. I disagree, I've ordered a couple and the weedguard fell out of both, one on the first cast, had to re-glue both. I've tried a couple other brands and omega seems to be the best quality I've bought, gonna try ezee jigs next can't beat their price.
