Anyone ever fish the creek from Ray Roberts spillway off of 428 near Denton?
Looks fishy, but I'm not sure if you can get to it?

Thats no creek. Its the Trinity River. There are nature trails on both sides of the river. Some of the banks are pretty steep and muddy but there are a few places you can access. As long as the river is not flowing to fast fishing can be good. Find a pool where the water has slowed down and fish that. I have had better luck down stream closer to 380.

I've never caught anything out of the trinity. Only behind the RR spillway. I have had alot more luck fishing the creeks further east on 380.

+1

I do ok at the dam when they have it open..lol but who doesn't? Follow that badboy over to 380 and there is some good fishing that isnt too far of a hike.

Thanks for the info guys. I fish Lewisville area a lot. Hickory Creek has been super hot the past week. I caught over 100 fish on Sunday morning, but it is overrun with people trashing the place up. It ticks me off when you are wearin em out and someone walks up right next to you and basically cast over your line. (I almost threw him in the water!)
I stopped by the 380 greenbelt corridor yesterday just to walk around and check it out. No one fishing, but a couple of good looking spots..
Anyone no of any good spots that aren't flooded with people, PM me. Your secret is good with me, and I generally fish alone!!!
Thanks.

There are a handful of spots, but you really just have to pitch and find the fish. Everything that I caught was within 8 feet of the bank and most in less than 8 feet of water. There are submerged brushpiles that you can't see from the bank, you just kinda have to know where they are.
Look for sharp bends in the creek and typically that means there is a deep hole. Jig and Bobber and fluctuate the depth until you find them.
They are definitely there and once you find one, you'll tag a bunch of em..
There were a couple of kids in daddy's boat going back toward the lake on Sunday in a blue bass boat and I swear they were doing 25 miles per hour down the creek. I screamed at em to slow down and when they did, If I could have gotten to them, I would have thrown them both overboard... People like that I have no use for!!! It's a great place to fish but you have to deal with the "IDIOTS" who do not respect the outdoors!!!!

Yeah i have heard alot of stories about people with their jet skis and big boats going up in there. Haven't seen any so far. Doesn't make much sense. I think their brain is not working right or something.
