I have not been to the Wolf Island area or Sand Bass Flat area of the lake since last year. Have any of you seen any schooling activity recently?

I have been catching most of my sand bass near Trinity Bay and the dam. I have been trolling the hellpet until I find schooling fish then I cast a tailhummer with a pet spoon tied 12-14 inches above it.

Ray Roberts sucks right now for sandies. Not sure why. Went out Saturday and did 3 "laps" of the main pool from Wolf Island to dam and back to marina and didn't get one measley fish in 5 hours. Didn't see anyone else doing anything either. Finally gave up and did some largemouth fishing in State Park Cove.

Seems like since the spring spawn, the sandbass fishing at RR has been horrible. For a change of pace, I fished Lewisville for 2 weeks around the July 4 weekend and went to town there. There were more fish than you could shake a rod at. Top and bottom has been excellent there. But not at Ray Rob.

Anyone have a theory on what's up with the sandies at RR rite now?
