Cedar Creek

Well today I fished with Larry and the boy scouts from Justin. This group of boyus was ready to catch some fish and fortunately we caught a few.

The Hellbender and Pet Spoon were all I used today because with this many fishing it just seemed the easiest and would definitely be the most productive.

The morning group consisted of Larry (scoutmaster), Jeremy, John and Troy. It was a lot of fun watching them reel in one Sand Bass after another. We started off near the sunken island and when the fishing slowed there we came back up the lake to the Spillway Hump. The morning group consisted of Larry (scoutmaster), Jeremy, John and Troy. It was a lot of fun watching them reel in one Sand Bass after another. As hard as it was for them ot call it quits they agreed it was time to let the other boys fish around noon. The count for the morning was 73 11-17 inch Sandies. While cleaning the mornings catch I taught some of the boys how to use an electric filet knife and they enjoyed that very much as well. At one point though Larry had to tell them to give him some ROOM!.
Larry and the boys were kind enough to feed me hotdogs and chips. The food cooked outdoors always seems to taste so much better!

The afternoon group was a lot of fun as well and was made up of Charlie (scout leader) and the boys were Grant, Chris and Patrick. I hit it off with Patrick big time. Lets see, he has red hair and was born on St Patricks Day. I gotta get this kid working for me! Anyway we went back to the Spillway Hump and loaded the boat with another 70 White Bass. I have put 2-8 foot rods in my boat and then 2 -7 footers which lets me fish 4 people at time and it worked great for these boys. I thoroughly enjoyed these boys and I hope to get the chance to fish with them all again.

shallow on the spillway hump is always good this time of year, especially as the day gets hotter.....got to watch the couple of hangups there, but it can be easy fishing....but you got to make a run or two thru it across it and other areas to see if there are hybrids hanging on the outside....usually there is a few.

Omar is 'Da Man'!
I am the Scoutmaster that Omar took on this trip. It was AWESOME! Some of these boys had never caught a fish before! (Now they will be spoiled for life)

Omar was GREAT! He met us at the dock and worked hard all day to get these boys on fish.(he actually made it look easy, but I know he worked at it). He was an instant friend to me and the boys and someone I will recommend to everyone.

I really enjoyed the trip and look forward to the next time! (I have already been asked, 'When are we going back to fish with Omar?)

Thanks Omar!!!
