Ive been looking to update my flipping reel to something a little better. Right now Im using a Bass Pro Pro Qualifier in 7.1:1. The reel works great the only issue I have is when I set the hook I can feel the body of the reel flexing and twisting.

One thing Im having trouble finding is the information on the drag ratings of reels. Ive seen people post up about the drag and brake ratings on reels but when Ive been looking havent seen any data on this.

Someone on the BPS site posted 10lbs for this reel a year ago. May be better now.

I like this one.

Check out the BPS master catalogue. They have drag power in lbs for some of the reels.

i use a shimano MG51 for flipping. you can always change out the drag washers on your favorite reel with carbon fiber ones from
www.smoothdrag.com even if they dont have the correct ones listed- an exacto knife can fix one for you smile

I sure would like to be able to afford some of those reels!

The one I saw was the Quantum energy pt had a 18lb drag...but even it is up there in my price range...ill have to do some shopping and see what I can come up with.
