What is the name of the Boat launch and bait camp on the Medina River just as it enters Medina Lake?? Directions to the launch would be helpful too. How is Medina Lake doing water wise??

It doesn't sound like you are talking about Pops place upriver. If not, I'd like to know of this place you're talking about also. I only know of the marinas near the dam, the state park launch, and Pops upriver.

There used to be a camp right on the peninsula or point there at the mouth of the river called Liebold's camp but I don't think it is a camp anymore, and may be a private subdivision. Used to be a popular fishing camp and destination for the white bass run many years ago. At one time they rented boats, and had cabins also, but like I said that was then, and this is now!

Nope, Pops place is the place I am thinking about. I wonder what the water level is like there at the moment.

I heard on here the other day that it was dry. I was watching the precipitation totals for the areas above Medina lake over the past few days and it doesn't look like they got much.

Medina lake is kind of an oddball lake when it comes to catching runoff that will fill the lake. All the other lakes will get water and fill up and if it doesn't rain in a certain spot in Medina's small water shed the lake will remain low when others fill up.
It has to rain in a marginal area directly above the hills around the town of Medina to get that river flowing. It will fill overnight when that happens, but it's long and far between rains in that area.

I live in northern Bandera county, most of the creeks are starting to flow as well as the river, read somewhere the other day that it's still 30 ft. down

Do you know if you can still launch at the county park? It has been last September since I was out there last and by looking at the water level, online, it has dropped another 10 feet since then. I think with all the recent rains it only came up about a foot.

maybe at the park but would suggest two people & 4x4. last time I tried the park we had to keep backing in-pulling out- until we found a small spot deep enough and level enough to float the boat. very ruff. better off going to Reds.
