Maybe someone here might be able to help me find something...

Who knew this would happen?

In December of 2002 I graduated from Texas A&M University and moved to Tyler, TX following commencement in order to begin employment with a company by the name of Petrofac, Inc. On Tuesday, April 29th, Chicago Bridge & Iron purchased Petrofacs US operations, the Tyler office, and merged Petrofac with Howe Baker Engineering, already owed by CB&I. During the merging of the two companies, all of the newly hired engineers were laid off. I have been laid off effective on May 30th, 2003 and I am now seeking employment as a mechanical engineer.

Because of the short length of time that I worked at Petrofac, I am basically starting as an entry-level engineer again, but I've had great experience, several internships, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

I have a cover letter, resume, and list of referals ready. My contact information is as follows:

David Norwood
Day Phone (903)266-7613
Evening Phone (979)575-4177
Email: david.norwood@petrofac.com

Please contact me if you feel you could help.

Thank you all.

David Norwood

That's rough man. I wish I could help. It could be worse, though. You could be in the IT business. Good luck.

I t could be worse, you could be married with several children. I would get on the web and look. You have impressive qualifications and I am sure you will find a job. Try a Web based headhunter service. Most of these services are free and are paid by the employers. That is where I would start.

I have a joke for you, you may like:
An engineer and a computer programmer were sitting on an airplane flight next to each other. The prog. asks the eng. if he would like to play a game to make the flight more enjoyable. The eng. refused because he wanted to get some sleep. The prog. said that the game would fun and it was really easy to play, he said all you do is ask me a question and if I do not know the answer I pay you $5.00. Then it is my turn to ask, if you can't answer you pay me $5. Eng said NO and tried to go to sleep. The prog said I will make it interesting. I will pay you $50.00 for my wrong answer and you only have to pay $5.00 for a wrong answer. That got the eng attention! The prog. asked the first question, "How far is it from the earth to the moon?" the eng. paid him $5. The eng asked the prog. "What goes up a hill with 4 legs and back down with 3?" The prog. pulls out his laptop and searches for approx 30 minutes as the eng falls asleep. Teh prog wakes the eng. and hands him $50. Then the prog asks the eng, "What was the answer to that question?" The eng. hands the prog. $5
and goes back to sleep.

Try posting your resume at lockheedmartin.com. They have been hiring engineers for their Fort Worth operation. Drop me a line if something works out, we'll show you some of the area lakes.
