The lake was beautiful on Friday. The water temperature was 42-45 degrees and the wind was calm. It is very pleasant fishing in the winter with low wind. The shad are roaming the lake in huge schools. The gulls are feasting on the ones near the surface. It does not appear the water got cold enough to affect the shad population. Also, it gets lonely out there during the week. My boat was the only one until about 4 PM. There is plenty of room for more. That is all I can think of positive to write about the lake. Notice there is nothing said about the actual catching. The catching is very poor!

I went out for an hour yesterday just to test the motor repair, and caught over 300.................. .................SHAD! there were so many shad @ the LE bridge, you could dip them out w/ your dip net. I left a trail of dead shad in my wake back to the ramp. must have been a MILLION birds sitting on the lake in the fog. Wierd

I have never been in fog that thick, I caught 2 in my first spot and would try it again but I have no idea where I was.

You know its bad when you're snagging shad with a 2oz slab jig in 30'-35' lol But, as you said Don, it is peaceful out there. I hear tell that there are catfish in LL ... maybe i'll try for some of thsoe this week
