What time do the Crappie usually move into the marinas on Conroe? I sank a few trees a few weeks ago off some docks in about 15-20ft of water and was wondering at what point I could give them a fair test?

From the first full moon in March through the last full moon in April and maybe into May a little.

Look for dogwood blooms through the conclusion of bluebonnets for visual indicators.

All jokes aside fatbass I fish docks on the north end of the lake and it seems usually around the first of march it picks up good.

It doesn't seem like Conroe get's much love on here? Anyone out there fishing it anymore? I know the boat traffic can be bad but it usually makes up for that with good fish...

There are a handful of lurkers that fish Conroe but, nobody posts much. There were a couple of clubs that used to hold tournaments on Conroe regularly. That sort of kept folks from disclosing too much information.

Conroe is a good lake for crappie. Best times of the yr are early summer and fall. Winter can be good, if the wind lays down and its not too cold.

A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!!!

Hey, Lake Conroe is a lousy fishing lake. No fish at all under the 1097 bridge, so no sense anyone planning any trips there. I urge everyone to fish Livingston or those Metroplex lakes. And don't believe anyone saying the contrary- they just want you to waste your time trying to catch fish out of Lake Conroe. And all you water skiers, and such- the lake is full of alligators and tiger sharks- all big and deadly maneaters. Best if everyone avoids the place. Except me.
