 Best way to clean out old greese and oil

Any recommendations for how to 100% clean out old greese and oil?
In the army we had those parts washes.. could drown the part,scrub it all to heck, and let it dry and voila.. would be sparkly clean
Any recommendation for how to get the same effect for my reel?.. inside and out?
