just a heads up, went to BPS in grapevine about 5:30pm this evening and parked in one of the first rows about 15 spaces out. Shopped for a while and got back to the truck at about 7:15pm to find my 2 year old sons bag, my gps, h2optix, 4 of my navonics/hot spots cards and several other items gone. they wedged under the drivers side door latch and popped the lock on my dodge truck. police said they probably saw the bag and thought it had a computer or something valauable in it. my gps was under the seat, but they found it after they got in. fender bender on monday night and now this, insurance companys gonna love me!

Sorry for your luck. This is the first i have ever heard of any issues there like this. They normally have the Grapevine PD towers up out there watching the parking lot. Did the store get anything on video?

Yeah it does, they had to go as far as getting a the cops to patrol more frequent and hang out there a while.

I wonder if this stuff is going to diminish when the economy recovers or are we going to have these thieves around all the time. Looks like we are becoming a third world country where we will all eventually have to put bars on our house windows and have 3 locks on each door.

I would think that the car alarm companies should be doing a land office business and should be making a system that sounds like TCU's train horn. That ought to scare the *&%$%^ away. bang

More than likely you'll have to claim the loss on your homeowners. I doubt the car insurance will cover the theft loss.

Thieves have been around for a millenia and there's no chance of ever stopping-it's just human nature on some's part. Best chance to lessen the odds of thieves succeeding is to make it harder for them to gain access to your stuff.

First...sorry about your loss and it sucks to think your stuff is not safe anyplace.

That said car alarms are cheap...some thieves know how to get around them but most will walk away if they see the red blinking light. Personally I would never own another vehicle without an alarm.
