Does anyone own a pair of prescription Costa Del Mar sunglasses? If so, what do you suggest for someone who is active (on water, golf course, driving, etc) What about getting bi-focal lenses in these sunglasses? I know it's an option, but I'm curious if it makes much of a difference while fishing and golfing? Was it a hassle getting the prescription Costas through a retailer? Any tips are welcome. I'm buying a pair for my father-in-law who is in serious need of new sunglasses. I own Costas myself, but not prescription ones. I wanted to see what ya'll had to say. Thanks.

Because of the wrap-around configuration of most sunglasses, they are usually not able to be made into prescription. Try Zennioptical.com

I am interested in this also. My optometrist and health plan only offers Ray Ban prescription sunglasses. I have really enjoyed my Costas for all these years but it will cost a lot more to get them. Trying to decide which way to go...hope to hear from some of you who have gone down this road.

Costas can be done in RX and can be done in just about anyway other than a 580 lens. Go to www.costadelmar.com and look up the list of approved eye doctors and labs to get you stated. They use the same lens technology as standard Costas just with your prescription.

I took my Costas and prescription to my local eyeglass store and they replaced the lenses with prescription lenses.

I have some costas, prescription no line bifocal, glass lenses, green mirror. I like them very much, wish I could have gotten them in the 580 lense but that is not available. Got mine in Arlington at First Eye Care.

I bought a pair of Costa's from Ragsdale & Martin Optical here in Tyler. They took my perscription and made me some high contrast lenses that are incredible. The best part is that my sunglasses don't weigh three pounds (exaggerating a little) now because of the GLASS lenses. The Martins are fishermen and know what you are looking for. Check them out at www.ragsdalemartin.com
