This is a Bob Clouser fly that has one modification because I was to lazy to look for some marabou and I happened to have some Finnish Racoon laying next to the vice.

The original fly uses marabou for the tail and can be found in the book, Clouser's Flies. I highly recommend the book because it has the recipes for the Clouser crawfish, hellgrammite, and this nymph.

Materials
Steamer hook, this one is a Partidge long shank #6
Bead, I'm using tungsten
Lead wrap
Finnish racoon or marabou
Whitlock's SLF dubbing, red fox squirel and dragonfly dark
Peacock hearl
Hen feather

Place the bead on the hook and secure with lead

Add the racoon or marabou, make it the same length as the hook

Dub a little more than half the body

Tie in the peacock hearl, I use 6-8 strands for this size fly

Tie in the tip of the hen feather

Dub the rest of the body, I like to switch colors, but it's your choice

Palmer the hen feather

Stroke the barbs downward to create a place for the peacock hearl to lay down

Tie in the peacock

Clip off the excess peacock and whip finish

Thank you for that tutorial, I always wanted to know how to tie one of them. I don't have all the materials you mentioned, but I can substitute. That is a fantastic looking fly!!
