Good Job. The woolheads are especially nice work. I've tied a few and have an appreciation of the skill involved. Not that I have any but can appreciate those who do!

OK, this is a game I can play. The original and infamous Diving Toilet Seat. Prototype on right and clouser eyes added on left (the eyes help it sit correctly in the water) Variations on a theme: Blugill DTS with lip, top; and seatless DTS with lip, bottom. My prototype Gutless Frog copy utilizing stacked sheet foam. I've gotta get back working on this one to find a way to make good legs that flail correctly. A victim of the DTS. A victim of Charlie's Plopsicle. My deerhair-headed, rabbit-tailed water moccasin. When it is wet, the tail is too thick and too long for even the Mini Mag to hurl. This is another design I want to get back to and refine. The Swimming Frog that someone (I think WoolyBugger?) posted a great set of instructions to on the forum. Various buggers. Some Muddler-type things using deerhair and mallard flank.

Nice flies... That gutless frog is a good idea!

There are very few truly new ideas under the sun. I certainly don't want to take credit for the design of the Gutless Frog. If you take a look at this thread you can see the original pattern and how I got to where it is... still stuck in the design phase. I definitely need more funding for R&D. Also interesting is this post on another forum that looks remarkably similar to mine in design and construction. Information moves at the speed of light out here on the intarwebz. Along those same lines, the DTS is based on Noel's NPD Diver, which is a popular striper fly on the west coast.

I'm astounded -- I had never seen flies with spinners before, and here on TFF they're practically common. Or at least y'all woke me up. Even noticed a packet of little propellers on the fly tying supplies display at Bass Pro (288 & 8) last time I was there. How 'bout them apples?
Awesome flies, guys -- very inspirational!

If'n you wanna see abnormal, you're in the right place. Most of us are far from purists. If it spins, it wins.
