I heard but not confirmed totally a 13 lb 6 oz Bass was caught Tuesday. This would beat Jimmy Johnson`s long time record of 12.88 lbs by a good ways. We were out there that day and did very well but somebody caught ethel! Like I said it still has to be totally confirmed. The park headquarters says yes somebody did. We will see? My guess is live bait at the discharge from the many cat fisherman there everyday but who knows.

Thinking of going monday to coleto. How has the fishing been down there. I usually head to turkey creek and start on the hard woods and work my way back till I get on them. What type of water has been productivety lately

Park HQ staff today said they did not know about it. But you never know with those guys. The lake is above pool, and they were letting water out today. This will be good news for the invitational tournament in March. The incoming water is cold, so it will delay the spawn.

If you are interested in the tournament, check out the tournament thread. Here is some basic info:

Entry Fee is $100 per team

Payout with 75 or more teams:

1st - $1200
2nd - $800
3rd - $600
4th - $350
5th - $250

I do highly doubt the release will affect the spawn in March any at all. Who knows what air temps will be between now and then. The water can get to 60+ and hold there anytime before March and it will be over with in a matter of 2 weeks. Could get several more releases before the tourney to which will make very little difference at all with the spawn.

The older lady that writes passes is the one that said she heard this as well but was not sure of who did. Very little info right now on it.
