My son has asked me to take him and his friend fishing on saturday. Somewhere close. I want to take them to Joe Pool. The problem is I do not know where to take them. Could someone please tell me were to take them. Bridge pilons or whatever. You can PM me if you want to keep it on the secret.

I think the bridges would be your best bet. I would look pretty deep on them too. Good luck! Let us know how you do. thumb

Are you fishing from the bank or do you have a boat.

There have been cars parked off of FM 661 down on Mountain Creek for several weeks off and on. You have to walk a ways back but they have been catching them there off of the bank.

How about the barge by Lynn Creek Marina or the bridge right there. Maybe the Joe Pool Marina barge or the State Park brush pile.

Little early yet for the barges. However, you'll be nice and warm. I've seen people catch a few at the barges this time of year, but they are few and far between. Last year about this time I did pretty good from my kayak putting in at Britton park and paddling upstream into the creek about a mile from the park. You go under a railroad track and then Hwy 2. Not sure how big of a boat you can get up in there.

This is the prime time for barges. From now until the fish spawn is the best time. The bridge should have some fish on it.

welcome aboard jeff88

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
