Taking a four and ten year old to CC for the weekend, would love to put them on a mess of crappie. Any pointers for this time of year would be greatly appreciated! We are staying at a rent house, http://www.pharraway.com/ ,located on the west side of the lake across from the Twin Creek Cove. I usally fish Lavon and will be lost for a while on CC.

Thanks in advance, TW

Fishing sounds pretty tough on CC from what I've read lately. Might read a few more of the posts out there for the last few days.

The house looks great, I have emailed for information. Have a great time, and since you don't know that much about CC, just fish the bridges. Sharon

I would concentrate my efforts with minnows fished around the bridge early and late and brush piles during the day. Good Luck I hope the kids catch plenty. If that doesnt work for you you might try the sandbass/hybrid. Just troll the hell-pet combo around points and humps and you should catch plenty. Good luck

Thanks everyone for the replies. The crappie fishing was very tough so we took Chuck's advise and went trolling. Caught enough sandbass to keep the kids very entertained and one hybrid that got my blood pumping. I would recomend this rent house very highly. It's a bit of a "no wake" drive out to the water but that's a good thing when the winds get up. Here's a couple of pics (if I remember how). Thanks again you helped make some lasting memories for the kids.
