Fished Somerville today for the first time this year. Water was like glass at times. Fishing with my buddies Howard and Ronny. Fish started off biting a little slow in the morning, but who can blame them with the water temps being 42 degrees.
27 degrees actual when we launched the boat.

Should have been there Whiskey Wrangler and Hollie

Ended the day with 57 catfish, a couple in the 5# range. A good way to start out the New Year. Fish were in 3-10 feet water, liking ShueShot under a cork. Perfect day for cork fishing with the low winds.

We are home in Arlington for Christmas break but am headed back tomorrow and plan on heading out there once the rain clears off, maybe Sunday... will you be there Sunday?

Well Weldon I am still on a quest for the ever elusive Somerville Blue Catfish.

You just have to stay after them this time of year, with water in the 40's you should be able to find em holed up

anybody know of a good spot at somerville for cats from the bank. any info would help,thnx

Fishing from the bank can really be tuff this time of year. The water is running about 10 degrees colder than normal, which means the fish are not on the bank unless there is structure or something holding food. That being said, I would thnk your best bet for cats would be fish one of the marinas, fish where they dump the fish after they are cleaned, use a punch bait.

Way to go Weldon, it has been some time since your last report. Guess you took some well deserved time off for the holidays. Did not seem to bother you though, Started the new year off just like you ended the last one.......AS ALWAY'S ON THE FISH!
