I been white bass fishing since i was a kid, but i never heard of these events and things..Plus I used to use a paddel boat that was given to me, and that was more than a work out than fishing, I now have a kayak though so I'm getting a little more interested in it.. Are these things just show up and learn, or is there sign up and fees? Im interested in this one i been reading about in feb.

The only fee is the fee into the park. You show up and there will be people there to help show you the ropes in catching more fish. Or thats the plan any ways. I know HL&S will show folks in the yaks what ever he can to put people on fish and I myself will do what ever I can to help bank fisherman catch more fish. When the weather starts to get a little better, so will the bite. When that occurs, then the teaching part becomes much easier to perform. Right now the bite is real slow, but if you know where to go and what to look for in the water current, then you can catch a few.
Yeah we saw a lot of deer off in a distance too, but this one was the best snap shot we were able to get, so we took it. At one point, she was only like ten yards in front of us on the road.

Mark your calendars for Saturday February 13th 2010 as we do another pancake breakfast at Nails Creek Park. We will provide breakfast and have a program about creek fishing and boating safety, rules and regulations. Maps and photos of the lake, creeks and public access areas will be displayed and discussed.
I plan on leading fishing kayakers and other paddlers UP the creek and will arrange to have a leader/guide for those that want to shuttle up to newmans and float back to the park.
If Doug "fishytx" is available that day he will lead the bank fishers to Newmans. If there is enough interest we will meet back at the park around dark-thirty to cook and socialize over dinner.. I hope to camp the whole weekend with my brothers and scouts. More on this later as we get closer to the date..

All, TPWD has some deer hunts going on from the 12-14th of this week. Newman's Gate/Bottom is closed for safety reasons. If you are in Nails or the Yegua Creek in a boat be careful and don't leave the boat to walk and fish on the shoreline. This is an adult rifle hunt on the 13 mile trail.

well its 8:50 and I'm headed to work. I had to go over night for a week to get some spring mods set. I'll be back on days this weekend, so I'll be back in the swing of things.
