just wondering if placid had an actual dock at the ramp or just the same rock walls that dunlop has? thinking about heading over there next weekend

no dock that i know of, but the rock wall at placid is a lil better to use or tie up too.

Someone told me that the launch for Lake Placid was closed under I10! Does anyone know if that is true? If so is there another place to launch from? Does anyone know which is the best lake to fish right now?

took the wife to placid this morning once the sun was up a bit. she still didnt enjoy the air temp being in the 30s when we launched at 10. only managed 1 small bass under one of the bridges. this was my first time on the lake in 15-20 years so it was a good trip checking out the lake. seemed like the spots we picked today would be better come spring time when the water temps are higher.

helpful hint... stopped by whataburger afterward for a pitstop before the drive back and no room to turn around. had to go thru the drivethru to get out of the parking lot. they only had one small driveway. on the upside, good excuse for a milkshake though!

Is there another ramp on the lake other than the one under I10?
