Got a phone call late Friday afternoon from my good friend Ray Austin asking if I wanted to brave the frigid temperatures this weekend for some BlueCat fishing. I have been itching to get my fishing fix for the past couple of months and have not had the time due to some family priorities. Beings the weather was going to be the way it was and we had no plans this weekend I took Ray up on his offer. I have caught plenty of Big fish in my life, but the biggest catfish I have ever caught was a 9-10# Blue out of Calaveras. Well I don't think I will ever forget the day we ventured out in 16 degree weather on the Guadalupe River on January 10, 2010 and I landed my Personal Best BEAST of a Blue Cat in the company of my good friend Ray Austin of Topcat Fishing.

Thank You Ray for the great day and wonderful memories brother!!!!

My Personal Best Blue Cat 36 1/2" & 23.9 Pounds!! If any of you fellas want to catch that fish of lifetime give Mr. Austin a call and book you a trip. Trust me it's a great feeling to Boat a fish like that. Travis & Omar it was a pleasure to meet you fellas also and look forward to some more memories with you guys. FISH ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you sir. She was released to fight another day and maybe next trip out I can boat one of them bad boys that popped that 30# Power Pro Braid and earn yet a little larger PB. All made possible by my good friend Ray Austin. Trust me I've fished for catfish all my life and I've never come close to catchin a fish of that caliber. All made possible by Mr. Ray Austin of TopCat Fishing. I'm freakin stoked and will never forget that colder 'an a well diggerz azz day believe me it was well worth it.

Thank you Rob, it was my pleasure having you aboard the boat sir. Great fight, never doubt an angler like yourself you handled that fish like a champ, looking forward to having you back out fishing with me. Glad to get you away from those nasty reds for a awhile lol. What a fun day of fishing, still hurting from laughing today. Good people and good friends are hard to come by these days, proud to call you one myself. That Lake Mcqueeney has some good blues, not hard to catch em around the island.
Thanks for blocking the picture out I really appreciate that a ton Rob and very respectful of the business. I could keep that lake a secret and continue taking customers and being the only truck at the ramp as long as I wanted but refuse to. I would be happy to give directions to the free hidden (ROUGH)ramp to anyone email me Ray@TopCatFishing.net. I will be happpy to help you onto the "private lake" and even pass on my fishing holes to you. We caught that booger next to the ski ramp on Lake Mcqueeney in 11' water. Right behind Treasure Island is the spot to get your shad and catch a nice blue sneaking through. We landed 34pounders,20pounders,and Robs beautiful fish in the channel that runs around Treasure Island, in our first few trips on Mcqueeney. I am sure there is a nice rascal in there for any of you catfishing guys that can get a boat in at this ramp. Keep Mcqueeney open to the public, keep the ramp clean as you can. Others are throwing catfish heads and trash all over the place, disturbing. If you use the ramp help keep it clean please. In the background of the picture you can reference the spot to right beside the ski ramp where we were fishing. Good Fishing.

Ray you got to admit them Ole Reds will give you all you can handle too lol. Man what a trip it was to catch this Ole Blue though. As for the background and loctaions...... Well the way I see it sir is like this........... I'm a serious fishermen BUT I fishing is not my livelyhood brother. It wasn't my hard work that put us on that beautiful fish, it was all YOURS. It is not at my leisure to give your hard work away for free. I did that out of respect for you as #1 My friend & #2 a GREAT Guide that bust his tail for a living.............. You are a stand up guy to give the tips and info out that you do to the fine folks here that have their own equipment and love to fish.

That lake is not very pressured at all during the NON-WATER SKI months. I'm possitive it holds MANY more treasures in it. Should you chose to share that information with these fine ladies & gentleman my HAT IS OFF TO YOU SIR. It is not my place or time to do so though.

Anyway enough about all of that. THANK YOU MY FRIEND FOR SUCH A GREAT DAY AND THE MEMORY I WILL CHERISH FOREVER!!
