I haven't tried the soft plastic Strike King "perfect plastics" baits. I haven't tried any of their soft plastics since they came out with the "Elaztech" plastics a few years ago. Those baits drove me crazy and I just couldn't seem to be able to rig them in a way the hook would ever snag a fish.

How does the newer "perfect plastics" compare to the "Elaztech" plastics in regard to the ability to easily rig them so they will hook the fish? Is the plastic similar to that of a Power Worm or a Zoom product? Is any special rigging technique required for the "perfect plastics"?

One of my sons has used them, nothing special to be done. Rig it and throw it!

Debra Hengst encouraged me to try the SK Ocho and it has become my favorite soft plastic. I caught 12 bass on one before I lost it. I have caught fish from 3 ft to 53 ft on them. You can rig them just about anyway you want. I am lucky if I can catch 2 fish on other plastic stick baits before they tear up.

The Ocho is a stick bait?

Yes, 8-sided senko style bait. They work great. The coffee tubes are good too.

I like the Super Finese Worm that KVD endorses. It looks like a Zoom trick worm but is made from the Elaztech material. Great floater and very tough. But I rig it with the hook exposed on a jighead with a weedguard, or push it through and skin-hook it if Texas rigging, because it is still harder to penetrate than regular soft plastics.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I have tried the super finesse worm, the tubes and the coffee shad, they have all held up well, and I have had zero trouble with hooking fish on these. Id say they are pretty good.

i had the chance to fish the ocho before it went on the shelves it was the first they made in the perfect plastic the guy i know that works for strike king would not even tell me what the materials are that make up the perfect plastic he said that no other company was doing what they were to make the plastic and i fished it in the early spring still cold out water temp was 40 and i fished only two all day on a stocked tank and caught 20 so they hold up very good in all conditions i really recomend them and he also said the coffee sent was no joke it really makes a diffrence on how long they hold onto the bait
