Get the net, I went 2 week-ends ago on a windy Sat. Got up in Big Caney to avoid the white caps and ended up with 19 fish by myself but only six of the fish were of any considerable size. If it wasn't so windy maybe could have faired better on the size. But who knows. That was the first time fishing that area.

Ken, if you would quit traveling the world and buying new boats, you would be catching them with me this saturday...guess I will pick up a hitch hiker on the way who knows how to count my crappie...

Can you provide any details as to your success at lake Tyler. I am going to try getting out this weekend--Sunday.

If you are wanting info. for Lk. Tyler, the crappie fishing is good on the Lk. Tyler East by the dam. Fishing right on the bottom in 30'.

I have been to tyler too before and seen them stacked up on the bottom and they are relatively easy to catch...it seems the size is always smaller on the average than what we catch on Fork. I would love to catch that same quality at tyler as could be on the water in 30 minutes vs 1 hour.........fork seems to average 11" and up where tyler seems to be 8" and up.....have the bigger crappie started biting, as I havent been on tyler in 1 month and at that time everyone was catching crappie and throwing alot back.....didnt see a single crappie caught that looked big out of the 25 boats fishing 100 yard circle in front of the dam....please respond as would like to know average size at tyler...

After we had 50 we had probably thrown back maybe 10-15 small ones. I had some over 13" long but some were also 10-11 inches long. There were definitely some bigger fish biting. I had bought 4 dz. minnows and when we got our 50 I gave 2 dz. away. They probably would have hit a bare hook the way they were biting. The weather in the morning is going to be about the same as last Sat. so I have thought about trying my luck again.

Hey lcb75701, GTN and I made it to Tyler yesterday afternoon and tried the crappie...fished about 4 hours, caught about 30, kept 19. Most were less than 10" long with the exception of about 5 nicer ones...they fit the "classic Tyler **** " GTN posted earlier. Not complaining, but have caught more and better crappie at times. They sure were good eating last night though! Ken
