Small world and I'm going to date myself but I grew up in Grand Prairie and worked out regular at a fitness center in the old downtown area of Grand Prairie. One of the "regulars" that we lifted with was a guy named Wade Hatton. Wade is the one that sung and published the Honey Hole theme song. "Put me on the cover of...." Another small world is when me and a buddy used to run into this "good old boy" guide out on Monticello in the early/mid 80's. Talked to him at the ramp more then once. Few years later we see him as the host of a new show...Jerry Dean and Honey Hole Magazine! Great show because you get info that is both up to date and (usually)someplace I can actually fish without getting arrested for trespassing!

Met Jerry back in 1991, he was fishing Monticello and filming a show. We were catching fish and he was watching us and not catching anything. He very gentlemanly waited for us to get close to him and asked what we were catching them on, we told him and he put on his show with our names and everything. Very classy guy I thought. Still have about a hundred issues of his magazine in a box somewhere. Very sad he made a tremendous contribution to this sport we love. He will be missed.

Jerry was a character for sure !! From his bouncer/body guard days to all the nights spent on Monticello he truly loved bass fishing. He had a popular show for a long time and the Honey Hole fishing circuit was good for many years back in the day.I remember using his line of floating plastics. He worked most of his life to promote the sport we all love and accomplished many things in the process. He will be missed.
Here is some classic Jerry Dean.

Prayers sent to Debra and Family. When I was a member with High Plains Bass Anglers our affilation was with "Honey Hole". I still have the last magazines that were produced.
Once again, May God Bless this family, Jerry did a lot for the Texas fishing community.

He turned me on to Fire Fire Tiger, caught hundreds of fish on that lure.

It was his regular shows on Broken Bow that led me to finally take the family there in 07 for our greatest camping/fishing trip ever !!

Thanks Jerry !!!

A Texas Fishing TV Legend to be missed for sure !!

T&P to Debra and the Family too !

RIP, Jerry.

I met him at Lake Georgetown during one of his filmings. His and ours were the only boats on the lake that day.

Sorry to say, he got a full dose of the Dead Sea that is GT.
The show never aired.

Us, on the other hand, had a good day.

I hope somebody will honor him and "put him on the cover" of a magazine. Maybe TFF can post his pic on the opening page. It would be a nice gesture.

Very sad news and prayers to his family. I know back in the day the HH Trail out here was the deal. Current Honey Hole host Bill Wilcox is at Falcon for the Stren or I am sure he would be on here giving us updates. If anyone gets more info please post it. Thanks
