I was going to buy another Abu this past year, but had heard their quality went downhill after they moved their factories to China. I bought a ProAngler reel instead. So far, zero problems. And I have landed blues up to 40 lbs with it. I like the louder clicker on ProAnglers as well.

I was going to buy another Abu this past year, but had heard their quality went downhill after they moved their factories to China. The quality is still there! You can still get the swedish made 7000's special ordered from Britain.

certain models of 7000's are still being produced in sweden from what I have found and been told. Might be misinformed on this but this was from a pretty reliable source. But we are getting off topic once again on this thread.

The real test to me is how well does it cast. Can it cast well without getting the dreaded backlashes like so many reels do. This is one reason as to why I do prefer the Abu is because of the backlash factor. I can also put the umph to the rod when casting to sling my bait out a long distance without fear of a backlash.

I have 2 of the proanglers, and they cast just fine, the biggest problem I have is with the clickers being on the side , I always palm my reels and I turn the clicker on every time I pick one up, the CZH has the clicker where the ABU's do so they would probly be ok!!! You can buy the refurbished ABU's at southwestern parts in Dallas Tgravley bought 3 6000's for $40.00 each last month, if they have them a 6500 C-3 I think is $50.00, call before you make the drive, sometimes they have them but havn't fixed them yet!!! http://southwesternparts.com/

I am still testing the Ming Yang reels. So far so good, but I have only had them a couple weeks. I will provide a full report after a couple months.

only thing bad I have to say so far is that the clicker is not loud at all.
