I'm seeing a lot of bait, but everytime I fish with bait, I end up catching a lot of dinks and a few nice fish. I plan on getting into fly fishing this spring. Anybody here have soft plastics or plugs in their top 5? Thanks for the feedback!!

if the saying "insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result" is true, then 99% of bass anglers are aparently insane.

Regular worms from my yard. Night crawlers Buger bugger (a fly and my personal invention) Salmon eggs. For the really tiny ones in ponds that will take just a bare hook if you give it to them And bread if i can ever figure out how to make it stay on the hook.
I dont go bluegill fishin a whole lot.

if you ball up bread and squish it real hard and add a small amount of water to it you can get it to stay in a nice dense little ball. just dont add too much water or it will turn into mush...

When using bread fresh white bread is best. Keep it in a ziplock bag until needed. Wheat bread isn't doughy enough to ball up well.
I used to fish Oakland Park in Ft Worth when I was a kid and used bread all the time. People would feed the ducks with bread and the fish would be waiting for the bread the ducks missed. It was no trick to pull out 20-30 perch in just a few minutes. We used #10 or #8 hooks. Any bigger and we missed fish.
