I have been watching for crawfish on my local lakes to determine their colors for matching jigs and so far i have found that the one thing that they have in common is the color orange. just wondering if that is true with most lakes and rivers?

P.s my local lakes are in north east oklahoma.

Yes... Red/Orange tints are comon in Crawfish for the southern plains states this time of year. Rayburn Red or Orange Craw is a good choice for Rat-L-Traps in Winter/ Pre Spawn.

At Toledo Bend in S/E Texas some tend to have more of a Bluish tint in winter/early spring... My guess is it has to do with the Mineral content of the water shed. Fact is they do exist in several colors.. but most folks never see them. Check these links below.
